Pop-Up Market Comes to Wellington Place This Summer

We’ve had our first taste of sunshine, and that can only mean one thing – the summer market is coming back to Wellington Place. Come join us from 11am to 3pm on the last Thursday of May, June and July 2024.

You’ll have your pick of street food venders. Want burritos? Head to Mexican Pilgrim. Fancy a falafel wrap? Pay a visit to Shouk. Need loaded fries? 7 Star Flag has it covered. And yes, you’ll see regulars like Rita’s Indian Kitchen, Challa Challa, Shoot The Bull and Pav’s Indian Dhaba too.

Alongside the food, we’ll have independent traders selling everything from jewellery to whipped soap, so you can shop local and treat yourself. Just add live music from the students at Leeds Conservatoire, and hopefully a little sunshine, and you have one of the best summer events in Leeds.

Here’s a little taste of what you can expect…

Savvy Baker

What better way to sate your mid-afternoon munchies than with one of the Savvy Baker’s brownies? They’re the stuff of legend, deliciously good with a range of flavours so big that it’ll give you decision fatigue.

The S’mores Brownie gets our vote, with its mix of biscuity crunch and gooey marshmallow, but if you like yours topped with an Oreo crumb, we won’t judge. And, spoiler alert, when they pitch up in Wellington Place, they’ll be bringing their incredible Biscoff, Reese’s and Nutella stuffed cookies too.

Stuzzi

Stuzzi are famous for their Italian small plates, but what you might not know, is that they recently launched a take home range…prepare to be wowed.

Aiming to recreate restaurant quality food from home, Stuzzi-made fresh pasta and sauces are ready to eat in 5 minutes. Freshly made pasta is paired with pasta sauce favourites like the 12 hour slow braised beef shin & n’duja ragu and seasonal pestos. And if that’s not enough, Stuzzi-made N’duja Ketchup, Negroni Marmalade, Balsamic Onions & Napoli Sauce as well as a host of imported Italian products for you to enjoy.

Mallowdramatic

Have you ever tried homemade marshmallows? They’re a revelation, which is why we’re so excited to welcome Mallowdramatic to our summer event calendar. Their marshmallows are a labour of love – and we’re smitten!

Just wait until you see all the weird, wonderful and utterly scrumptious flavours they’ve created. There’s Cherry Bakewell, Lemon Sherbet and Eton Mess, not to mention a Chocolate Fudge Brownie that couples triple chocolate marshmallow with homemade fudge sauce. Divine!

The Cheesy Living Co.

If, like us, you obsess over cheese, this is the stall you need to seek out. The Cheesy Living Co. has two bricks and mortar stores in Leeds, but we’re bringing them to your doorstep and they’ll be serving their tasty wares to-go.

Cheesy goodness comes in the form of Pitchfork Cheddar, Waterloo Brie and the Leeds Blue, to name but a few. You can have them made up in a cheese board, with olives, cornichons, chutney and more, or go all out with a full charcuterie selection, best enjoyed in the Tower Square sun.

The Others Studio

It’s not just street food – The Others Studio will be making an appearance too. Expect handmade jewellery that takes you from simple gold bands to signet rings and pendant necklaces.

Owner Loretta has a studio right here in Yorkshire, and she makes everything herself using age-old techniques and recycled metals. The result? Timeless pieces that won’t go out of fashion. This is your chance to see the collection in person, to try on the rings and put the finishing touches on your summer looks.

Sugarwell

Whether you’re after pre-holiday pampering, hassle-free gift shopping or just a little Thursday afternoon treat, Sugarwell should be high on your list of stalls to visit. They do everything from soap to lip balms and scrubs.

Their products are handmade using natural, nourishing ingredients. The solid lotion bars, for example, use a mix of mango, cocoa and shea butter to leave your skin feeling super soft. And the whipped soap is a game-changer. It foams up into a sweet-smelling wash to leave a lasting scent on your skin.

Handmade by Kirstie

Handmade by Kirstie is one of the cutest, quirkiest stalls on our summer event circuit. Handmade cards, needle felt keychains and knitted bags all make an appearance in a collection that celebrates craft in all its forms.

Owner Kirstie France makes everything by hand, and she’s constantly adding new crafts to her repertoire, which means the collection is ever-changing. We love her range of jewellery, especially the ladybird earrings, but maybe you’ll fall in love with her bumblebee necklaces.
