Rail

Wellington Place is just a few minutes’ walk from Leeds train station, which offers direct services to a huge range of destinations all over the UK. You can plan your journey and purchase tickets online through National Rail, Trainline or your chosen operators website or app.

You can walk from the train station to Wellington Place along the River Aire path, Whitehall Road or Wellington Street. You can view a walking route to Wellington Place from the train station here.

Walk

Consider walking to Wellington Place if you are able to, as walking has many great benefits. You can access Wellington Place from Wellington Street, Whitehall Road or Northern Street, as shown on the map here.

Walking routes to Wellington Place can be planned using Google Maps. You can also download our walking maps of the waterways route, civic quarter route or southbank route, to get to and from Wellington Place.

Bus

Whitehall Road and Wellington Street, either side of Wellington Place, are well served by frequent bus services to the city centre and to other destinations around Leeds and beyond, including Pudsey, Bradford, Halifax and Huddersfield. These stops, which are shown on this map, are a short walk from the centre of Wellington Place. There is a real-time passenger information screen located in Tower Square to let you know the time of your next bus.

The Leeds Core Bus Network is a  colour-coded network introduced to helps users navigate the Leeds bus network with ease. The Core Network is made up of 18 bus lines for services that run every 15 minutes or better. Bus stops have the colours and names of the bus lines as well as bus stop flags which show all the services that run from that stop.

Cycle

Consider cycling to Wellington Place if you are able to, as cycling has many great benefits. If you are considering taking up cycling for your commute then check out this advice from a British Cycling Ride Leader.

CityConnect has also pulled together some useful resources to help you on your way and you can use their tool to plan your journey to Wellington Place. If you want to start cycling to Wellington Place but don’t feel confident, free adult cycle training is available from CityConnect for people who live in West Yorkshire.

There are a number of on and off-road cycle routes leading to Wellington Place including the Cycle Superhighway, Whitehall Road and the canal towpath.

In addition, cycle maps showing cycle routes primarily towards the city centre can be found online here.

Once you arrive at Wellington Place, you can lock your bike using one of our Secure by Design Streetpod bike storage units located behind 1 and 2 Wellington Place (what3words: bunny.logs.people), and bike racks available in between 3 and 10 Wellington Place, 5 and 6 Wellington Place.  There’s also a bike repair station on-site.

We also offer free bike rental to Wellington Place occupiers.

Park & Ride

Park & Ride is a cheap and convenient way of getting to Wellington Place.

There are three Park & Ride sites in Leeds:

  • Elland Road (PR1)
  • Temple Green (PR2)
  • Stourton (PR3)

The PR1 service directly serves Wellington Place from stop Wellington N on Whitehall Road, as shown on this map. The PR1 also serves stop TP on Boar Lane.

The closest bus stop for the PR2 service is stop TL on Lower Briggate and the closest stop for the PR3 service is stop TK on Lower Briggate / stop SE on Neville Street, as shown on this map.

Parking is FREE and you just pay for the bus, which is £4 per day, £3.60 if you buy 5, 10 or 20 days on a smartcard, or £580* for the year if you sign up for the First Commuter Travel Club here.

Rail-based Park & Ride also exists at Apperley Bridge, Kirkstall Forge and Low Moor.

Car

Parking

If you need to drive to Wellington Place, on-site indoor parking is available in the NCP multi-storey car park accessed off Wellington Street, use postcode LS1 4AP. Click here for more details.

Motorcycle Parking

Motorbike parking is available at Wellington Place. To arrange access, contact your building manager.

Enterprise Car Club

The Enterprise Car Club offers local car rental by the hour for visits, errands and meetings. There are Car Club vans and cars parked throughout the city centre. Click here for more information.

Car Share

You can decrease your impact on the environment and traffic by offering a lift to people who make a journey that is on the same route as yours, or by accepting a lift from someone. Car sharing has tonnes of benefits, including reduced fuel and parking costs. There’s also less traffic, meaning less congestion and reduced CO2 emissions. Sharing arrangements can be flexible – you don’t have to car share every day to still make a positive impact.

Electric Vehicle Charging

Air

Leeds Bradford Airport is a 30-minute direct bus ride from Wellington Place on the Flyer A1, which runs every 20 minutes. You can catch the bus from stop Wellington D on Wellington Street. The A1 has a luggage storage room, wifi and device charging points.
