Construction Complete on 4 Wellington Place
Following their announcement to pre-let the office space in its entirety, the building will house one of the world’s largest betting and gaming firms, Flutter, including Yorkshire’s very own Sky Betting & Gaming.
The company currently occupies space in both 2 and 6 Wellington Place, but the new building will provide access to office space across eight floors, as well as a host of exclusive building benefits including a south facing roof terrace overlooking Tower Square, basement parking and secure cycle space, plus shower and changing facilities.
The building will provide Flutter with 134,000 sq. ft of grade A, BREAAM excellent office accommodation, and bring up to 18,000 sq. ft of ground floor retail and leisure space to the Leeds city region. Now complete, 4 Wellington Place is the ninth building to be finalised in the wider masterplan.
Paul Pavia, Head of Development at MEPC said:“Wates Construction have done a fantastic job in helping us to deliver this exceptional building to their usual high standard with only a slight delay despite COVID restrictions impacting progress for nearly half of the project duration.
“4 Wellington Place is in such a great location as visitors enter the development from the city centre or the train station – perfect for one of the city’s biggest employers. Sky Betting & Gaming, now part of the Flutter family, has been such an important part of the Wellington Place community for the last ten years, and it’s great to hear that, they’re just as excited as we are about the move into their new home.”
Michael Afflick from Flutter said: “Our people are what make our business and whilst we are incredibly proud of how we have adapted during this very difficult time, we are as equally excited as the team at MEPC to provide our colleagues with a new workspace they will be proud to call home.
“The development will become one of many homes the Flutter family have globally, primarily occupied by people from our UK & Ireland and International divisions, but also offering both work and collaboration space to our teams from all over the world.”
